The Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church Endowment Scholarships
Bethel A.M.E. Church has established an endowed scholarship fund to provide assistance to graduating high school seniors in our congregation and in the community in their quest for higher education. The purpose of the scholarships is to help students meet their financial obligations.
The categories of scholarships to be awarded are:
The Bethel AME Church Family Scholarship - This $1500 scholarship will be awarded to eligible student members within our church family. To be eligible for this one-time award, the student must be a current graduating high school senior who has been an active member of Bethel AME Church for at least two years. Students may not delay applying for a subsequent year of study. The student must be accepted as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours) in an accredited post-secondary school. All applicants must have attended the Scholarship Committee Workshop for High School Seniors and the Middle School Workshop for 8th Grade Students to be eligible for an award. [Note: Bethel students are to list their church activities under ‘Community Service’ on the application.]
The Bethel AME Church Community Scholarship - This $500 scholarship (one-time award) will be awarded to a non-Bethel student who is a graduating high school senior, and will be awarded on the basis of verified financial need, scholastic achievement, personal character, community involvement and communications skills. Preference will be given to African-American Eastside Wilmington residents who will be full-time students (minimum of 12 credit hours). Applicants must reside in one of the following zip codes: 19801, 19802, 19803, 19805, 19806 or 19807.
The Dr. Leroy Christophe Memorial Scholarship - This $500 scholarship (one-time award) will be awarded to a student who demonstrates significant financial need. Preference may be given to a non-Bethel student. The recipient must be a graduating high school senior who will be a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours).

THE BETHEL A.M.E. CHURCH EDUCATION STIPEND
Bethel A.M.E. Church has established a Higher Education Stipend Fund to provide assistance to eligible students in our Church Family in their quest for higher education. The purpose of the fund is to provide qualified students with a stipend of $200 (Two Hundred Dollars) per semester during their full-time enrollment in an institution for post secondary education.
|For Applications:||Applications can be obtained from the box located on the wall in the Church Annex. Fall Stipend applications will be available September 1st. Winter Stipend applications will be available January 1st.|
